About Krakow:

Krakow is the second largest city in Poland. It is also and one of the oldest as well. The city is situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region. The city counts its history from the 7th century. During ages Krakow was important in Polish academic, cultural and artistic life. For some periods Krakow was the capital of Poland Republic.

Krakow is known for a distinct architectural and historical heritage. Some people even call Krakow the Prague of Poland. The city was thankfully spared the ravages of the last war it still has wonderful collection of late medieval and baroque buildings. Besides, the entire Old Town and many other objects are included into UNESCO Word Heritage List. Krakow also has something to boast about – the central square is the largest medieval square in Europe. Now the Grand Square has a plethora of landmarks, shops, restaurants, clubs and cafes.

Krakow is also relatively green city as there are five nature reserves in the city area. It makes great ecological value. There are also dozens of lovely gardens, parks and forests in Krakow. One of the best-known parks is the Planty Park which surrounds the Old Town like the green belt.

Today Krakow is one of Poland's most vital economic centers, and the economic hub of the Lesser Poland region. It is also known as second most important city in Poland.
